The Islands of The Bahamas
Where better to enjoy the excitement of Nassau, the capital of The Bahamas, than at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort which is situated on a 1,000-foot stretch of Nassau's most spectacular white-sand Cable Beach. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be treated to gracious Bahamian hospitality, generous facilities and an abundance of activities – from swimming to snorkeling, sailing, and exciting water sports.
Seven acres of spectacular waterscape, including three freshwater pools with flowing waterfalls, oversized whirlpools, and a swim-up bar will help you relax during the day. By night, try your luck at the neighboring Crystal Palace Casino. Or sample a taste of the Caribbean at the great restaurants and lounges, ranging from casual to fine-dining.Nassau’s bustling centre is just minutes away with a host of bars and clubs where you can chill out or live it up.
Duty-free international labels pepper the designer stores along Bay Street and over on Paradise Island with lots of souvenir shopping opportunities. Afterwards a sedate break for the feet and wallets is a horse-drawn surrey trip around downtown Nassau for a gentle sight-seeing trip perhaps finishing with a fascinating visit to the Pirates of Nassau Museum or the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas.
A twenty minute ferry ride takes you across to Blue Lagoon to get up close and personal with the Dolphin & Sea Lion Encounters. If you fancy some high speed action board the Powerboat Adventure down to the Exuma Cays for a full day of sun, sea, snorkelling, marine life …. and iguanas! The Powerboat Adventure stops off at secluded Allen Cay for you to see the Allen Cays Rock Iguana sometimes known locally as the Bahamian Dragon. From dragons to the dish of the day – after whizzing you down to Ship Channel Cay the crew create your fresh Bahamian lunch while the stingrays and needle fish beg for scraps. After an optional walk around the island, followed by a delicious lunch there is plenty of time to chill out on the beach or ‘drift snorkel’ the channel as the current carries you along.
The Powerboat Adventure ends with the exhilarating ride back to Nassau where, after a full day at sea exploring the Exuma Cays, you will be more than ready to sink into the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper™ Bed in your spacious room overlooking the ocean at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort where you can dream about exploring a couple more of The Bahamas’ 14 island jewels when you return for your anniversary…
